Looking for something fun and a little different to do this November? Get ready for an evening of comedy, history, and medieval adventure! On Thursday, November 5, 2026, the Museum of Idaho and Idaho State University are teaming up to bring a special screening of the 1975 cult classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail to Idaho Falls. This isn't your typical movie night, though. The screening will feature expert commentary from Dr. Thomas Klein, an Idaho State University English professor with a PhD in Medieval Studies.
Whether you're already a fan of Monty Python or simply enjoy learning something new, this event offers a unique way to experience a beloved comedy classic. Following the film, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a discussion with Dr. Klein, who brings a fascinating academic perspective to medieval literature and history. His work explores early medieval writing and how knowledge was represented through physical objects, including Anglo-Saxon riddles and historic artifacts such as the Franks Casket, the Staffordshire Hoard, and the Vindolanda tablets.
The evening takes place at Tingey Auditorium on the Idaho State University Idaho Falls campus, located at 1784 Science Center Drive. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. The event is expected to wrap up around 9:00 p.m. The film is rated PG, making it a fun option for a movie night with friends or family.
There are also a few admission discounts available. Currently enrolled ISU students can receive free admission by selecting the ISU student ticket option at checkout and providing their student ID. Active Museum of Idaho members can use code MEM3 for $3 off each ticket, while ISU faculty and staff can use code ISU3 for the same discount.
If you're ready for a night of laughs with a little medieval history mixed in, this is one November event worth checking out! For ticket information and additional details, visit the Museum of Idaho event page.
