Sounds of America – Idaho Falls Symphony Concert in the Park

Looking for a fun, free way to enjoy the arts with your family this September? Add Sounds of America: IFS Concert in the Park to your calendar! On Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., the Idaho Falls Symphony will bring an evening of music and celebration to the Freeman Park Amphitheater.

This year’s concert is especially meaningful as the community comes together to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The concert is part of a community-wide Day of the Arts, created in partnership with the Idaho Falls Arts Council, The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho, and the Artitorium. Throughout the day, families and community members can enjoy free arts activities, exhibits, performances, and hands-on experiences celebrating creativity throughout Idaho Falls.

The evening will continue with a special outdoor performance by the Idaho Falls Symphony, led by IFS Assistant Conductor Robert Tueller. The program will feature a festive mix of patriotic favorites, Americana, and beloved orchestral classics. Music lovers can look forward to pieces such as John Williams’ Cowboys Overture, Charles Ives’ Variations on America, the beautiful Ashokan Farewell, and selections from Ellington or Gershwin.

One of the evening’s highlights will be Copland’s stirring Lincoln Portrait, which will feature a surprise guest narrator. The concert will wrap up with Sousa’s iconic Stars and Stripes Forever, creating a joyful finale celebrating music, community, and the spirit of America.

Best of all, the concert is completely free and open to the public! Grab a blanket, pack some snacks, invite your friends and family, and enjoy an evening of live orchestral music beneath the Idaho Falls sky. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the arts locally without having to travel far or spend a lot.
