10 Questions You Should be Asking During Your Apartment Hunt-image

Apartment hunting can be a daunting task, but by asking the right questions, you can narrow down your search and find the perfect apartment for your needs. Here are the top 10 questions to ask while apartment hunting: What is the cost of rent, and what is included in the rent (e.g. utilities, parking)? What is the deposit and fee structure (e.g. security deposit, pet deposit, application fee)? Are there any restrictions on pets or smoking in the building or on the property? What is the parking situation (e.g. covered or uncovered, cost)? How old is the building and what updates have been made to the units or common areas? What is the neighborhood like (e.g. quiet or busy, safe or not, amenities nearby)? What is the management like (e.g. responsiveness, helpfulness, reputation)? Are there any additional amenities or services offered (e.g. pool, gym, laundry facilities)? What is the length of the lease, and are there any penalties for breaking the lease early? Are there any additional fees or charges, such as for maintenance or repairs? It's also important to schedule a visit to the apartment complex and to inspect the unit before signing the lease. Take note of the condition of the unit, the smell, the noise level, and the overall feel of the place. Don't be afraid to ask the landlord or the management questions during the visit. By asking these questions and visiting the apartment, you can get a better understanding of what to expect and if the apartment is the right fit for you. And always read the lease carefully before signing to make sure you understand all the terms and conditions.

Simple Steps to Stay Active During the Winter Months-image

Winter can be a tough time to stay active. The shorter days and colder temperatures can make it harder to motivate yourself to get outside and exercise. However, it's important to stay active during the winter months to maintain your physical and mental well-being. Here are some tips for staying active during the winter: Bundle up and get outside: Just because it's cold doesn't mean you can't enjoy outdoor activities. Dress in layers, wear a warm hat and gloves and take a brisk walk or snowshoe through a local park. Find an indoor activity: If the weather is too harsh to be outside, look for indoor activities to stay active. Try a yoga or Pilates class, hit the gym, or take an indoor cycling class. Get creative: There are plenty of ways to stay active indoors that don't involve a gym. Try a dance class, take the stairs instead of the elevator, or even do housework to get your heart rate up. Try winter sports: Winter sports are a great way to stay active and have fun. Skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and hockey are all great options. Join a community: Signing up for a winter sports league or a fitness class can help you stay motivated and accountable. Plus, it's more fun to exercise with others. Schedule regular exercise: Make a schedule and stick to it. This can be as simple as scheduling a daily walk or an exercise class. Try something new: Trying a new activity can be a great way to keep things interesting and to challenge yourself. Try a new workout class or a new winter sport. Remember, it's important to listen to your body and not push yourself too hard. If you're feeling tired or unwell, take a break and rest. The key is to find activities that you enjoy and that you can stick to, even on the coldest and darkest days of the winter. With a little creativity and motivation, you can stay active and healthy all winter long.

How to Throw a BIG Party in a Small Apartment-image

Ever thought about throwing a party in your apartment? Does it feel too small for your guest list? Well, we have all the tips and tricks on how to do it! Create an Open House      If you want to have lots of your friends over, but don't feel like they can all fit. Create enough space by lengthening the time of the party. Invite guests to arrive between the hours of 5:00 and 9:00. This ensures that people will be coming and going throughout the night and the turnover will make sure that guests are passing by. Make Space      Sometimes we think that we need enough chairs to sit all of our guests, but the truth is, not everyone needs a seat! Folding chairs everywhere can actually limit space for guests. Party hosts must accept that some guests will have to stand. Usually, by their own choice. You can also push all of the existing furniture to the walls so there are more areas to mingle. If you have a patio open the door and let guests flow to that space as well. Double Duty      Repurpose your existing furniture for the night. You can use your office desk and side tables as a place to serve your snacks. Shower rods double as coat racks and windowsills double as drink holders. Your coffee table becomes your dining table and throw pillows and rugs become your chairs. Don't be afraid to get creative. Set the Mood      Not every party needs tons of decorations to be a success. Keep it simple by adding a vase of flowers on the counter, hanging up twinkle lights, throw on some low music, or add a few herbs to spice up your platters. It is the small details that truly matter. Clear the Clutter      Get rid of anything on the counters to make space for the party and food. You can store it inside the oven, in the cupboards, under beds, and in the closets. Any extra décor can be set aside. But you are probably wondering where you are going to cook the food. Don't worry we will get to that! Feeding the Crowd      We recommend sticking to finger foods and at room temperature. This is going to be your charcuterie boards, prepared meats, cheeses, olives, crackers, fruit, and vegetables. Your guests can graze all night. Make sure to put the food out in clusters throughout the space so not everyone is in the same place at once. We also recommend having one specialty drink for the night.
