🎃 A Family-Friendly Halloween Weekend in Idaho Falls-image

October is one of the most exciting times of year to get out and explore Idaho Falls with the family! With costumes, fall decorations, spooky stories, and plenty of opportunities to make memories, Halloween season offers something for everyone. If you’re looking for ways to keep the kids entertained this month, we’ve put together a sample itinerary filled with local activities, creative ideas, and a little Halloween magic. 👻 Wednesday, October 28: Halloween Fun at the Library Start your Halloween celebrations a few days early with a visit to the Idaho Falls Public Library ! On Wednesday, October 28, the library is hosting its annual Halloween Parade from 10:30–11:30 a.m. Kids can wear their favorite costumes, listen to spooky stories, sing fun songs, and trick-or-treat throughout the library. There will also be crafts and photo opportunities, making it a great outing for younger children. It’s a fun way to enjoy Halloween festivities without waiting until the big day! 🍂 Saturday, October 24: Explore Downtown Idaho Falls If your family wants to get an early start on Halloween weekend, mark your calendar for Crawl-O-Ween in downtown Idaho Falls on Saturday, October 24, from 6–10 p.m. This community event features Halloween-themed activities, a costume contest with prizes for both youth and adults, and a chance to explore participating downtown locations. The event begins at the Old Ferrell’s Building on West Broadway. Be sure to review the event details beforehand, since some activities require a purchased Crawl Pass. 🧡 Friday, October 30: Make Your Own Halloween Traditions Kick off Halloween weekend with a relaxed evening at home. Spend the afternoon carving or decorating pumpkins, making Halloween-themed treats, or putting together costumes for the next day. You could also organize a family Halloween movie night with popcorn, apple cider, cozy blankets, and a lineup of age-appropriate spooky movies. For younger kids, choose something silly rather than scary. Sometimes the simplest traditions become the memories everyone looks forward to year after year! 🍬 Saturday, October 31: Halloween Day! Halloween is finally here! Start the morning with a festive breakfast, then spend some time getting costumes ready and taking family photos. If the weather cooperates, enjoy a walk around your neighborhood to admire fall decorations and Halloween displays. In the afternoon, consider hosting a small Halloween party with friends or neighbors. Set up simple games like a candy corn guessing jar, a Halloween scavenger hunt, or a ring toss. As evening approaches, check local community announcements for available trick-or-treating opportunities and neighborhood events. Remember to bring flashlights, wear comfortable shoes, and make sure costumes are visible to drivers after dark. 🏡 Make the Most of October in Idaho Falls Halloween doesn't have to be all about candy and costumes. It's also a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time together, support local events, and discover new activities around the community. Whether you're exploring downtown, visiting the library, or creating your own traditions at home, there are plenty of ways to make October special.
